- YOU CAN GET ON YOUR LOCAL CABLE – FREE
Many communities televise the meetings of their municipal governing bodies on local cable stations. You may want to go to a meeting, regardless of whether it is televised, and ask your elected officials if the local government is purchasing products from ExxonMobil. If so, please ask them to use some other supplier until the company makes a statement calling for a withdrawal of troops from Iraq. If the officials don’t have an answer immediately, ask if they can let you know at the next meeting. Click here for talking points you can use at the meeting.
- Resistance in the U.S. Military to the Iraq War
One of the goals of Consumers for Peace is the impeachment of George W. Bush and the prosecution of U.S. civilians responsible for perpetrating the Iraq War, in violation of international law and the U.S. Constitution. We think it is essential, however, to present the argument that U.S. military personnel, at all levels, have the responsibility to uphold international law, to refuse to follow unlawful orders. This may mean refusal to go to Iraq. For a soldier in Iraq, it may mean refusal to kill.
Consumers for Peace has commissioned a report on the relationship of international law to the Iraq War, which will be published next week.
In the meantime, we present this inspiring article by Ann Wright, reporting on the growing refusal within the U.S. military to participate in the Iraq War. (more)

Fallujah Says it all
FALLUJAH - In 2004 the United States destroyed Fallujah. It was a war crime and a crime against humanity. This action typifies the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq. This video shows what happened, and what continues to happen daily if on a smaller scale.

ConsumersForPeace.org, through the ExxonMobil War Boycott, is working to stop the killing in Iraq; to end the United States' occupation of Iraq; and to bring the perpetrators of the war to justice.
